Margaret was born in Sale, Cheshire and studied ART and Education at Trent Park Teacher Training College in North London. She now lives in Cheam, Surrey where she taught in local primary, secondary and independent schools while also teaching and demonstrating various watercolour and mixed media techniques to adults. She has been exhibiting her work locally for more than 20 years and in London with the RI and SWA at the Mall Galleries, the RWS and SGFA at Bankside Gallery, the SBA at Westminster Gallery and also at the Barbican and Menier Gallery with the SGFA. Margaret is married with two grown up children and four grandchildren.

She is a fully elected member of three professional societies:
SWA The Society of Women Artists
SBA The Society of Botanical Artists
SGFA The Society of Graphic Fine Art (Where she was a Council Member for 10 years)

Margaret now teaches various techniques in watercolour, drawing and mixed media. She enjoys a wide range of subjects, and all her work has a strong emphasis on drawing.

Margaret has written and illustrated two books,'DRAWING FLOWERS', published in May 2012 by Search Press and 'DRAWING LANDSCAPES' published in May 2014. "DRAWING FLOWERS" has recently been translated int Spanish.

Margaret holds classes and workshops in Cheam, Surrey and also gives demonstrations, workshops, talks and critiques for art groups & societies as well as social groups.
Recent groups visited include: Ashtead, Banstead, Croydon, Fetcham, Farleigh, Horsley and Clandon, Kingswood, Reigate, Walton-0n-the-Hill and Woking. Margaret also demonstrated for Search Press at PATCHINGS Art Festival in 2014.
Demonstrations, critiques and workshops for 1216 will include: Ferring in West Sussex, Woodhatch ART EVENTS Reigate and DERWENT Pencil Museum, Cumbria.

Margaret has tutored and led painting holidays in France, Algarve, Yorkshire Scotland and East Sussex.
